Most early stage capital in Finland ends up in Helsinki. That's not because the best founders are all there. It's because that's where the networks are, where investors feel comfortable, and where the familiar patterns repeat. The result is a pretty significant gap: founders building serious companies in the rest of Finland who can't get their first check because they don't fit the template.

We started Vivax to close that gap. We're a pre-seed and seed fund based in Lappeenranta, and we write the first check that most investors won't. Not because we're trying to be contrarian, but because we think the data is clear and the opportunity is real. Founders outside the capital region are underserved and underfunded relative to what they're actually building.

We get involved early, before the story is neat and the numbers are big. We care less about where you're from and more about whether the opportunity is real and whether you understand it better than anyone else.
